Supervisor, Laura Phillips, LPC-S
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher and have extensive experience working with individuals, couples and families struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, emotional dysregulation, addiction, self-harming behaviors, and PTSD. I graduated from Lamar University in 2023 with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have spent most of my post-graduate hours working in residential substance abuse treatment.I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and the Emotional Freedom Technique, somatic therapies that utilize bilateral stimulation (eye movement or tapping) to process trauma. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with mood disorders, as well as people and families suffering with the effects of PTSD and complex childhood trauma. I will work with you to heal any past trauma that may be interfering with everyday life and guide you as you form healthier ways of thinking about yourself and the world. Through the use of mindfulness skills, self-soothing techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy, I will help you to finally be set free from the shackles of intrusive negative thought patterns and emotional reactivity. I can teach practical skills that you or your family member can use in real time to soothe dysregulation immediately. Knowing each person's background, motivations, and self-dialogue are unique, I will take the time to understand and heal the roots of your suffering profoundly and will work with you to develop healthier habits in both body and mind.
